Overall Mass Balance

Feedstock (fruits incl. apples, pineapples, papaya, grapes and strawberries)

=Liquid (undigested sugars) + Vapor (Methane gas and CO2 gas) + Solid (fibers and cellulose)

=300 kg / 180 gmol-1

How much sugars is contained in 300 kg of waste?

What are the items in my feedstock?

Fruits. Apples, pineapples, papaya, grapes and Strawberry.

Apples: 10.31 grams of sugars in 100 g of fruit + 89.5 grams of solid waste (fiber, cellulose) (6 grams of fructose + 2 grams of sucrose + 2 grams of  glucose

= 10.31%

Pineapples    :    9 grams in 112 grams of pineapples           = 8.04 %

Grapes         :    20 grams of sugars in 126 grams of grapes =15.87%

Banana        :    17 grams in 140 grams of banana              =12.14%

Strawberries :     7 grams in 147 grams of strawberries       =4.76%

That means:

Apples           : 45 kg = 4.725 kg

Grapes           : 60 kg = 9.522 kg

Bananas        : 150 kg = 18.21 kg

Pineapples     : 30 kg = 2.412 kg

Strawberries  : 15 kg = 0.714 kg
