SUM YIN YAN REFLECTION
ROLE: REPORTER
Reflection of CPDIC
As the course comes to an end, I observed that the part that Dr Haslinda taught is much easier compared to Dr Abbas’s parts. This is because most of the problems in the closed-loop system that she taught can be solved by substituting values into formulas while the opened-loop system has a lot of variables to be considered. The test was really challenging and unforgiving. I really need to put 1000% concentration on this subject.
Reflection of Kinetic and Reactor Design
The new way of teaching is really impressive and innovative. I like your courage of making changes for the poor education system in Malaysia. However, I would still prefer learning in the class rather than watching those videos. This is because the lecturer might not be able to express everything in the video. Besides that, the lecturer would not be able to focus on the progress of the students if learning was only done through video. As for the “Take Home Test” is quite difficult for me because I have not fully understood the whole chapter yet. I am not sure with the solutions for it even though I have set the question.
Reflection of Process Safety and Prevention Loss
As usual, Dr Dzulkanain will check our progress when doing assignment in the class. However, too little classes and there is no quiz were conducted which cause me feel so miserable about my coursework mark. This subject is considered the easiest subject in this semester.
Reflection of mini- project
This project is different from the conventional type of projects we used to do before this. It does not only focus on problem solving but it requires our creativity to design the plant. Throughout this project, I have gained clearer ideas of Biogas production. I have learnt few processes involved in this industry. Besides that, this allowed me to understand the importance of bio-energy to our earth. However, I felt that this project is time consuming to the students. It takes more time and effort to complete the board game but the board games carries less weightage in our coursework marks.
Contributions
In this mini project, I have come out with the technology to convert organic waste into Biogas and fertilizer. Besides that, I have done the block diagram mass balance based on disposed fruits. Throughout the course of the project, I had to organize and monitor the progress of each and every member of the team.
