ROLE: REPORTER
Reflection on project
This project taught me a lot on how to manage time efficiently. Considering we only have a few weeks to complete this project, we knew we had to divide the task fairly and effectively if we were to finish the task accordingly. As my main task was to find, scrutinise, compare and contrast lots of literature needed to choose the appropriate technology, I found out that the time constraint does really takes a toll on the quality of the literature review. There is of course, a lot of research literature on available technologies today that focuses on turning wastes into usable products, but the amount of current real world application case study does not echo with the amount of research literature done on the said technologies. Even if there is such literature, it is not available or subscribed by the university. As such, it is very difficult to find and compare various technologies that fit best. I am blessed to have group mates that are willing to work cohesively despite various hurdles faced.
Reflection for subjects
KRD – Sometimes, things don’t always turn out the way we want it to be. For the first half of the semester, based on the test 1 alone, it was indeed a disaster. When I try to refer and reflect on the questions with my colleagues, the solution was indeed simple, and not that I never knew of. I just thought my way of thinking is different from others. But what’s done is done, and it’s better to focus on the current progress for the 2nd half of the semester. I believe in sustenance (rezki), and I am always optimistic for the future.
CPDIC – I love this subject very much, especially the first half of this semester. It is not that hard as what I previously thought (marks don’t necessarily reflect our understanding on the subject). The important things were just the basic, and once we grasp the basic, everything become clear. I am optimistic on this 2nd part of subject, although I’d say the 2nd part is harder to grasp (based on the textbooks). I am already thinking of taking subject this as my major.
PSLP – Perhaps the most important subject enrolled prior entering real-world industry. I really thought everyone should enrol for this subject, even though their line of work may not directly related to processing industry. The recent incident in Tianjin, China, will become one of the turning point in stricter safety regulations.
Contributions to the group
I contributed a few ideas in the beginning, and every ideas were considered. My main task was to do literature review. Kindly read the literature review part if you’re intrigued to know more on it. Next, I did the mind map for the group, all the designs, background songs, cute stickers, and also the exclamation mark. It was tiring, because a lot needed to be done, but it’s done, and I’m glad that I did it.
